Fantastic pub. We have eaten here many times and the food has always been excellent. The whole team here are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Dog friendly and an all round great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
The order was incorrect. The portions were significantly smaller than usual- I have been here many times before. The attitude was appalling by the member of staff when I informed him of the incorrect order and portion size. Customer service was absent on this occasion. Due to his behaviour we left and went to another local eatery, this highlighting the huge difference in customer care and professionalism. Also, your response to this review speaks volumes. I am fully aware of what menu I ordered from. Yes the portions, even for this, were smaller than usual. I am surprised at the lack of acknowledgement and apology for your sarcastic and aggressive attitude/demeanour at the time.
We had a fantastic lunch here, and the great thing was the staff couldn’t do more for my wife who has a gluten intolerance (see burger picture below). I had an amazing venison & bacon pie with mash and seasonal vegetables. They have some Timothy Taylor cask on and I had a pint of Boltmaker with my lunch. I finished it off with some Sticky Toffee pudding which was one of the best I’ve had for a long time. I highly recommend this little pub on the canal. They have a large outdoor area which is amazing in the summer. It’s always a great reward after a nice walk down the canal.
Great friendly pub with great food to match. Dog friendly also. We enjoyed so much we booked for Christmas day lunch 😋. Great for walks as its close to a canal as well. The outdoor area is a great suntrap in any season. 👌👍
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and the added bonus of allowing dogs inside, so it's very handy to drop in for food & drinks on a walk down the canal. Most places have limited vegetarian choices, but both the starters and main meals had more than enough choices for me...so much so that we visited three times in just one week! Would highly recommend visiting! Special thanks to Mark the Manager for staying open for us when everybody else had left (we had to wait almost an hour and a half for an unreliable taxi) 🥰💜
