In May 2014, John & Linda took over The Oak Tree and the pub has gone from strength to strength! We pride ourselves on great food, great beer and ale's served with a smile. Probably caught it on a quiet night but I certainly wasn't overly impressed. The bar tender didn't greet me cheerfully or say thank you, which is what you come to expect as a minimum. Other than that, it's a spacious place with some good beers on offer.
Just been in with my wife and youngest daughter. Greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in. Tables were spotless and well set out. We ordered a kids sausage chips and gravy my wife had a ultimate Sunday dinner and I had whale and chips (fish) it was superb!! Highly recommend
Absolutely brilliant, food was excellent 👌, the large roast dinner is a challenge with all the meats in the menu on it, the portions are massive, you're probably best going for the standard as it's quite a good portion, the staff are brilliant too , very helpful and nothing is too much trouble, book a table as it was packed, there is a more limited menu in a Sunday but it's excellent 👍
Almost missed this restaurant which is only 6 mins drive from home. Value for money deal: 2 lunch sets + 2 drinks = £20.79. Friendly family style service. I will definitely visit again.
Always a very tasty and enjoyable pub meal. Reasonable prices and a big selection of things to choose from. I always enjoy the macaroni cheese and the loaded hunters fries. The chocolate cake sundae for dessert was also very good. My only complaint is they stop food service around 7ish so you have to get in there a bit earlier. Desserts are still served a little later on.
