I arranged to come here for our works Christmas party. We had the best time staff were really friendly, impressed by the range of arcade games to play. The cocktails were amazing. Everyone had a really good time and would all love to visit again. Thank you!
Yes people take games for ages sometimes, to be expected. Server didn't inform us of happy hour cocktails, toilet roll holder in the middle ladies toilet is one that you can't get any out of (with the tiny hole where it comes out of), not sure why they're split male/famale and not unisex, it's 2023, and we found quite a few games didn't work right and would swallow coins. But otherwise it's a cool place to visit. They have cool inventive cocktails though whenever we visit and staff are nice.
Drinks are amazing and have a great twist on classics, if a game goes wrong someone is happy to fix it or return your coins, bathrooms surprisingly clean for a bar, and the staff are friendly. Great place to go. Just wish they'd fix the guitars on guitar hero as they've got some ware and tear on the buttons making them stick, and one has a broken strap
I’ve been frequenting NQ64 for the last couple of years and while I do love going there, it’s definitely pretty inconsistent in service, atmosphere and whether the machines actually work. It can get pretty busy in there especially on Friday and Saturday, which can make it hard to get on machines. If you’re going to get drunk and piss about on the games that’s fine, but if there’s something in particular you want to play you might find yourself waiting which is standard for a place like this. Most of the bar staff are bloody lovely. I have had a couple in the past who’ve been a bit rude but everyone has their bad days and it’s a pretty infrequent occurrence for me. Cocktails are ace, though I’m gutted they got rid of the Bowser Breezer. If cocktails aren’t your thing there are plenty of beers, cider and other cans to choose from. Machines are my biggest problem with NQ64 though, especially right now. One of the joysticks on the Tekken machine doesn’t work at all, for example. Both DDR machines also have terrible sensors, and the cabinet in the side room is for EuroMix 2 but is running EuroMix 1 right now. The Guitar Hero in the side room is also far inferior to the one tucked up in the back of the bar — it’s missing half of the songs and for some reason it wants eight tokens for premium songs! Compared to the other machine which only needs one, as it should be. It’s also so loud that you can’t ever hear the MaiMai or DDR machine in the side room, even on weekday evenings when there’s not many people and the music in the actual venue is quiet. The GH machine in the back of the main room has its own problems too, mostly that the strum bars are pretty inconsistent. The right side of MaiMai has also been broken for some time now which is a downright shame. Again, if you’re just looking to get pissed and have a good time it won’t bother you. These days I mostly go to actually play on the machines though so the things that don’t work are far more noticeable. The monthly tournaments are ace though and there are always some really cool people that show up to them. There are tons of super nice people that also go to play on the machines and I’ve loved seeing familiar faces and making friends through coming here! I definitely prefer coming on a weekday evening when it’s a lot quieter, but NQ64 is still a fantastic place no matter the time of day. I just wish a little more care and attention went into maintaining the machines, especially for the customers who actually go there solely to play them.
Amazing location with brilliant selection of arcade and console games. Drinks are a bit expensive but taste great. Could do with another guitar hero machine, usually end up waiting 30-45 minutes for it to be free
