Staff was asleep on the settee when we turned up, no glasses in rooms, restaurant shut, NO cooked breakfast in the morning. But clearly shows a cooked breakfast on the website, definitely not staying here again for the price they are charging
We loved our 2 nights at Coquetvale. Christine was so very friendly, helpful and no request was too difficult for her. She made us Aussies feel at home. We had dinner there on both nights and breakfast too. Excellent service and great food. We'd love to come back again.
Absolutely dreadful experience do not stay here mouldy hole in the ceiling water pouring in soaking carpet filthy bathrooms no staff to talk to or check out early with which is what we had to do. Breakfast was cold level tablespoon of beans a kettle to make your own tea but no tea no milk and no cups! Awful experience
Stayed for one night nice room clean everything you need. BUT there's no staff hardly young man on the bar was doing everything didn't see anyone else afternoon to night time next morning at breakfast full dining room one young girl waiting on and one in the kitchen - very slow service - self service drinks but NO CUPS for 25 minutes and that was only when I went and asked for some same with the toast self service NO BREAD lovely staff just not enough shame good be great with a little bit of attention to detail.
A beautifully decorated and spacious room, but that was all. Apart from a waitress and chef at breakfast there were never any staff, and no management present. Breakfast food was poorly presented, the shower was unusable as it took ages for the hot water to arrive, then the temperature was uncontrollable. I had to mend the toilet cistern myself as best I could. There was never anyone in the bar to drink or serve and no atmosphere whatsoever. There was a noisy fridge in the room which we had to turn off to sleep, and there were no glasses in the room. The room was never made up all the 5 nights we stayed there. We spent the minimum time we could at the hotel as there was great food and social life in the village itself. We were so fed up we left a day early wanting a refund which we are still waiting for! The view from the front of the hotel (our room) was quite beautiful, but we expect much more from a hotel than this
