The food was excellent. Staff were amazing. Was there for food, and I cannot comment on rooms as I never stayed overnight.

I had 2 nights at The Station Inn as I had always wanted to visit Hexham and the place was truly amazing. The staff so friendly and couldn't do enough for you,the room had everything you could need, great Breakfast and Sunday lunch and very well priced drinks in the bar and the location couldn't be better for the town and the Railway station.Thank you so much to you all,you were all so great to me.I will be back whenever staying in Hexham again for sure-Oliver Hawke-Leicester

It has a central location within the town (central Hexham was only a 5 minute walk away) and the staff were friendly. The bathroom in the room had recently been decorated and was a nice place to escape from the rest of the hotel... Sleeping was tough... Partially, this was because the other guests were loud and doors were slamming in the corridor (I understand that the Station Inn can't do much about this, still annoying though). The main problem was that the room was insufferably hot, no doubt this was because every radiator in the building was running at full blast in the middle of June! The room was small for a family room and was just generally a little unloved; worn carpet, tired decor. The door lock to our room was broken which made it very difficult to get out (this must be in violation of some fire safety regulation). Oddly, when we informed a member of staff they said that they "had been told a lot of times about the problem"! No matter! Part of the reason I booked The Station Inn was that a Full-English Breakfast was included in the price; that would make up for a poor night's sleep! We turned up to be informed that there was no cooked breakfast on that day (no further explanation) and we were offered a laughably bad "Continental Breakfast" alternative, it was absolutely disgusting. It included: Plastic cheese slices, the weirdest ham ever (kind of sweaty), cheap sliced bread, cold boiled eggs, and a cup of pretty grim coffee. It is simply not good enough. I should have been told at check-in that there would be no breakfast the next day, or I should be refunded at least £25 for 4x cooked breakfasts. It is part of the package that I paid for and it was not delivered. I have worked in the hospitality sector for over 15 years, what the Station Inn is trying to get away with is not acceptable. If something is different to what was advertised you tell them upfront and offer a discounted rate or a full refund for those that may want it. To put this into context, I have never left a negative review before, I normally just won't come back. £100 per night for a family room is about average in this part of England, but the Station Inn is far below average.

The best Sunday dinner in Hexham. Regularly go to the station to sit in for a Sunday dinner or get the take out to have at home. The veg is always cooked well and there’s a great selection. Good portions too if you’re both sitting in or taking it away. The pricing is on point and slightly less than some of the other places in the town. Staff are always cheery and helpful, and I always feel like it’s a warm welcome.

What a great find! We stopped over, on the way back from Scotland. The only negative is the lack of secure parking for the bikes, so they were chained up on the walkway outside the front. Apparently they've never had any problems, and ours were fine. And the food is really good, the chips are the best I've had in years.
