What a brilliant pub. Went for dinner, it was busy, the pub is bright and cosy and very dog friendly. Open fires. The menu is written on a huge blackboard Mains 15-22 pounds We had lamb, pork belly and brisket All excellent, food is piping hot, veg well cooked Puddings are delicious, cheese board, 3 big pieces of cheese Staff, (Liam) very friendly, and a great waiter Best meal out in ages 👍
We were a party of 10 booked a table on Friday evening. Food was excellent a very high standard. Service friendly and professional. We will look forward to another visit.
Cannot comment on the rooms as I didn't stay there, but if everything else is to go by they must be good. Donna, behind the bar is a real livewire, so lively and friendly, and a pleasure to talk with. Dave is incredibly industrious, in the evening taking orders and serving food, in the mornings cooking and serving breakfasts. (Always polite but ready with an appropriate quip according to the customer.) At either end the food is first class, and you can be a fussy eater and still get what you ask for. Having spent a weekend in the village and sampled the hospitality here I can safely say I WILL BE BACK!
Ate here but was not staying in their rooms. Warm welcome from the friendly staff. The front of the pub has a good atmosphere, but avoid being sat round the corner from the bar (near the kitchen) where the lights are bright and the atmosphere is distinctly worse. The food was good value and serviceable.
Wonderful nights stay in a building that dates to the 1600s! Dave and his wife are doing a fantastic job with the property; made us feel right at home. Wonderful meals and a very restful night. Great little parish to walk around as well. Thank you!!!
