Compact, basic town pub on one of the roads leading to the market square. The main bar is to the right, with a smaller bar at the front on the left, leading to a pleasant outdoor drinking area.
To complement the regular Church End ales, there are plans to install three extra hand pulls to allow extra choice.

Worse pub in atherstone…staff rude..Saturday night no one in there ordered a Guinness after waiting 5 minutes in the bar..no staff visible..pub empty…just a child looking bar maid chatting to kids next door…Saturday night 3 people in..that says all you need to know..all other pubs packed as there was a concert in the square and new swan EMPTY…2/10 at best
Only in for a couple of pints, much needed new management. Lovely friendly Irish landlady. Served with a smile and nice pint. Will be back.
Playing a game of pool then the owners came over shouting without reason, stopped the game. I said let me take my mrs and we’ll leave, I then was assaulted by them and pushed out the door. I’m new to atherstone but I will not be going here again. Very unwelcoming and quite frankly rude. This pub is very dirty and the toilets are a nightmare. Is this how you run a pub? I don’t think so. I don’t recommend anyone to go here.
The most unfriendly pub with the neighnours, rude Inside it stinks of urine and I don't encourage ANYBODY to go there
Food, drink and staff all pleasant. However for some reason they seem to think it acceptable for the only cubicle in the gents toilet to have a urine soaked floor and have no lock on the door which means you have to be over 6ft or an exhibitionist to sit on the toilet.

Popular real ale flagship on the historic market square. There's a busy bar, and a comfortable lounge to the rear where children are allowed.
