After a friend called to enquire about a wedding reception for me and was told it is all fine and we can put a deposit down the next day, I called to ask about times. The man who answered was so rude, without even asking me a date, as soon as I said it's a wedding I was told "no we can't do weddings we don't have the staff". Even though the day before it had been confirmed it was all ok!! Unsure how staff came into it when a date was not known! And number of guests was not asked for!! Could have been 2 years away with 10 guests for all he knew! I have never experienced such rudeness and i am highly disappointed.
We came to this venue to support our friends who play darts for a match against New Studio Club. Initially the bar staff were polite enough and there were no issues. At some point the first bell was rung for last orders at the bar...quite a few people were outside smoking and apparently missed a second bell which quite frankly I barely heard and didn't realise myself that it was even a bell ringing. At no point did anyone call out last orders or let us know that a second bell had been rung. We have never been to this establishment so are not sure about the closing times etc...but the bar staff were very aware that it was our first time there. We all approached the bar to try and purchase some more drinks and were greeted with rudeness from all of the staff members and one woman actually turned her back to us while we were still talking. A simple heads up to let us know that the bar was closing early would have been the courteous thing to do. Where we were sitting was not in view of the bar so we didn't even see when they actually started pulling down the shutters. They knew that the darts would continue until after the bar closed and we didn't expect to buy drinks after closing...but we could have purchased some before closing as opposed to us all sitting around with empty glasses for over an hour...supporters and darts players the same. Unfortunately...the manner in which we were dealt with left a very bad taste in our mouths. As guests in this venue for a competition we just expected a little more kindness. Maybe in future they could give people an understanding of closing time when aware that they are visiting for the first time.
