Nice pub was very busy and we didn’t get a proper table in the restaurant, but the food was nice but not much atmosphere as everybody seemed busy .
Was here on a weekday about 4pm and wasnt too crowded.. they had Really nice prawn with garlic. Beef pie was also tasty and mussels sauce go so well with the bread ! Slightly pricey but was worth it !
A must visit if you go to Coldingham the good is excellent. I had potatoe skins & then steak pie it was delicious my partner had squid rings & battered haddock & chips which he said were both excellent he said the fish was amazing. The service is good & the staff friendly & very helpful & welcoming this pub has a lovely atmosphere & I just loved it. We visited last year when we were down so decided to go in this year for food it did not disappoint. It has a lovely huge beer garden outside were you can also sit & have your food. It's just lovely. We will definitely visit next year if we are down. 🥰
Great starters, great and friendly staff and a lovely sunny day. What more can you ask for. Could do with more squid and less salad, perhaps some tartar sauce and a lemon too. The steak came out, covered in sauce and in my experience that's what restaurants do with out of date steaks, However I put the sauce on my chips, never on a steak. Not long out the fridge prior to cooking made it very chewy. Bleu needs at least 45 mins to an hour at room temp prior to cooking. However great beers. Cheers
I visited this restaurant a year ago and it was amazing the food the service everything. I went back this year and it was a bit disappointing first of all they didn’t have the best dish that is the lamb in minted gravy I was waiting a whole year just to go back for that lamb.. and then the service could be a little more friendly, I ordered the chicken with peppercorn and I ask if I can have gravy instead they said it’s limited because they use it in other dish so they can’t do it I said ok I asked then for mash they couldn’t do mash either and quite ridiculous to not be able to order sides . After when my chicken came unfortunately it was very dry and my boyfriend ordered the mussels with rich tomato sauce it came in a bowl of soup … overall disappointing for the 50£ that we pay
