Had a lovely birthday lunch at The Nelson Inn in Burntwood this afternoon. Proper classic high quality comfort pub grub. Hearty meals that tasted really really good. What we ordered, with ticks next to our favourite dishes: • French onion soup ✅ • Baked goats cheese ✅ • Mushroom parfadelle • Fish and Chips ✅ • Apple Pie and Custard ✅ • Strawberry and prosecco roulade Very happy with the food and service here, definitely will be returning to try more comforting meals.

Vanessa King writing this.... Disappointing first and probably last visit. It was my husband's birthday. When we were asked how the meals had been, I advised my chicken was dry and the potatoes and pepper sauce all a bit claggy, not very pleasant... the member of staff casually apologised but didn't seem interested. The service was ok but not exceptional. The lighting was very very bright throughout the dining area. More subtle lighting would be much more comfortable for evening dining. Not a great experience 😕....

It was the hardest place to find and get to. Hidden somewhere. Staff were OK, atmosphere was OK, food was OK. There was nothing WOW about the entire experience. After you get lost 4 times trying to find a place, and everything was just OK. It really gets your goat. We sat down a while before anyone approached us, food took a while as well.

Lovely country pub with a beer garden and small children’s area. Great good quality fresh food, friendly helpful staff and a good selection of beers and lagers. Very positive experience
