Peaceful hidden gem in a truly great location. Great beer, great food and great company
The Navigation Inn dates back to the 15th Century and was the site of the local Moot Hall. Some of the period features still remain in place today with a magnificent 16th Century Fireplace being the focus of one of the main dining areas.
Situated next to the beautiful canal in the heart of Sowerby Bridge, serving real ale and home cooked food. Dogs are welcome. Fantastic menu offered 7 days a week.

Amazing tea! Pigs in blankets as a special board starter followed by steak sandwich with garlic mushrooms. Absolutely delicious.
We booked a table for Sunday lunch, not having visited for several years. A friendly welcome and clean and pleasant. We ordered our meal which unfortunately took much longer than normal to arrive. The meals did not disappoint however. Very well cooked and enjoyable. Congratulations for having a tasty Porter beer on draught.
A great cosy pub next to the canal. We had a late lunch there with my kids (1 & 3 years old). The staff were great with the kids and we were very welcome! The food was delicious and generous too. A lovely spot, we will be back.
Sadly a bit hit and miss, first they'd run out of blue cheese for the blue cheese & steak baguette, so we opted for goats cheese. The steak was non existent in one sandwich so it was an expensive cheese butty. I had the lamb kofta which was lovely and well presented the nann wrap was a nice touch and tasty. But the onion rings were in edible and tasted & looked like they had been cooked a few times before been served to us. The barman was friendly and served quickly.
Nice old pub 10 minutes walk from sowerby bridge centre. Definitely worth a look if you like cask ales, and the traditional style of pub. Food menu looked good. Outdoor seating area. Liked it. 👍
