About us

McMullen & Sons, a family Brewer purchased The Nag’s Head in 1927 for then the pricely sum of £7,525 GBP – God bless the London property market! Breakfast at The Nag’s Head was documented in 1970s Old Covent Garden photography book by Clive Boursnell called Covent Garden Then and Now, capturing the epiphany of good times at the Nags. An era where the pub would open at 5am for market traders and pint bottles of milk was a thing!.

It was good vibes, IPA is recommended crafted. Music choice was decent. And service / staff were good.

It's Saturday evening and a few drinks before going to see The Lion King are in order!! And, its gloriously hot. Covent Garden is soooo busy with everyone having fun wandering around and enjoying themselves. There is a really good vibe ! The pub is very busy and we're fortunate to get a seat outside. The service from the staff was brilliant and very efficient considering the amount of people wanting to get served. It's a traditional London pub with so much character and history and well worth a visit. Plus it's fairly big compared to The White Lion opposite....

Ate here after a long day of shopping in the area. The downstairs was incredibly crowded and noisy. We made our way upstairs to additional dining which was much quieter. A little limited on beer options. Friendly staff were helpful, but the food was just average. With pub food prices as expensive as it is today, we just hoped for better. The Hunters chicken was cooked well and tender, but the bbq sauce was not very good. The Steak and Ale pie was average but parts seemed overcooked and were pretty hard. Kale was everywhere on the plate. A little kale goes a long way, and seriously - no English peas?
