Had dinner here, ordered the fillet steak which at £38 I expected would be good. It was dry and chewy. Very surprised the chef managed to ruin a decent piece of meat. Not long after sitting down a couple of rather unwashed individuals sat down at the table next to us absolutely stinking of marijuana. One then starting snorting and eating very loud. When they left the place turned into an old people's home. The dominos came out and we couldn't hear ourselves speak to one another. See photos Will not be back. Not worth the hype and avoid the steak.

Very enjoyable stay. Perhaps a little understaffed on the bar, however the staff were wonderful. Rooms were fantastic. Food excellent, especially the currys available on the bar menu. Breakfast was very good and exceptional value for money. Location is great. Close to Perth, an hour to Edinburgh and 50 mins to the House of Bruar. A few more whiskies would be welcome, but that's a personal preference. The one negative is the insane markup on the limited wine selection in the restaurant. It's the one aspect of the stay that doesn't fit with the rest of the experience.

Disappointed at staying here for 3 nights last month. Booked an upgraded room which wasn't in the hotel, more like a block of flats 100yrd away, although the room was nice. Just not so good in the rain and cold weather. When we arrived the reception lady just gave us the keys and pointed outside. No mention of where the bar was or where to go for breakfast. Went to the bar and noticed the seat was covered in crumbs even though the place was dead and bar maid sitting doing nothing. Ordered a bottle of wine at £48 and she just left the bottle on the table no ice bucket. Ordered food from the 2 star AA restaurant and it was very poor. Overcooked or burnt. This place puts itself on par with other 4 and 5 star hotels but in reality it's a 3 star hotel at best.

This exquisite dwelling nestled in the Scottish countryside offers a high-quality bar that provides a cozy and comfortable ambiance for enjoying a cocktail. The British-style leather armchairs by the fireplace create a warm and inviting setting. While the restaurant aims for high standards, it slightly fell short of its promises, as did the breakfast, which was decent but left us expecting more. Despite these minor points, the residence is incredible and provided a comforting abode for our two-night stay, especially before the onset of Storm Babet. Highly recommend for a serene countryside escape.

I read a few negative reviews recently regarding the staff and I have to say, we didn't experience any of the issues other reviewers did. The young woman who served out afternoon tea was absolutely delightful and had a lovely manner. She was informative and attentive. The afternoon tea itself was a delight and I wouldn't hesitate to have this again. Our room was lovely and clean, quite homely. Dinner in the evening was great, I couldn't fault it and I could tell a couple of the young team were fairly new and they did an outstanding job. Very polite and courteous. Our meal was very good and breakfast in the morning was also as expected. Plenty of choice, relaxed atmosphere and lovely scenic views. Highly recommend Murrayshall for a night or two away with a chilled vibe.
