Great food and hospitality. Great Christmas vibe to the place today. People having their Christmas Lunches and meeting friends. I popped in for a sandwich, it was colossal! The turkey was so tender too. Parking was easy across the road, which is handy.
Service and food here is excellent. Good value for money and very well presented and tasty meals. Provide gluten free meals. Staff extremely helpful and Friendly. Car park immediately opposite. Just be careful of a very low step that is not clearly marked out (just a small sign on wall) no hazard warning to identify the low step... I managed to injure my ankle within 10 minutes of arriving there.
Soaring high above the competition Murrays is the go-to spot in the small, little town of Bargoed. Attracting people from all over the Rhymney Valley it's built up a reputation of serving some of the best food around. The Sunday dinners come bursting with vibrant colors, complex flavors and a rich aroma leaving your senses almost overwhelmed. The Lamb is juciey, tender and thick cut with a robust, well-balanced flavor perfectly accompanied with a thick, dark and rich gravy. The roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding are biloth golden in color and packed with flavour. The honey glazed parsnip and carrot is sweet and earthy. not the best experience... contacted the restaurant to find out if the main menu would be available on steak night but was bluntly told that's the only option. The vegetarian option was shocking... half a char grilled cauliflower with what can only be described as a bag of salad leaves thrown over it (probably to disguise it) poor staff knowledge, lettuce wedges served soaked in water, zero fish options and unable to order chips as a side order. 15.00 for cauliflower and chips was excessive, and after stating I didn't like it at all, nothing was done. Other steaks were bloody when they asked for well done... the good part of the place is the decor, the interior and garden, which are stunning and a lot of time, thought and money has been invested. Advice for the future... Vegetarians have taste buds, and you need to cater on a daily basis for pescatarians who don't eat meat but enjoy a tastier option to vegetables.
Delicious food and cocktails on tap; quite strong and tasty too. Priced very well and the cocktails were definitely worth the 2 for £12 cost. Lovely bar and nice seating and table spacing, far enough to not get intermingled in other guests conversations, making the atmosphere of the place very chill. Easy location to find and plenty of parking nearby
