Staying very local for few days. Very friendly and welcoming staff, BUT over £15 for a pint and glass of wine! ONLY card payments NO cash excepted. Will we return during our stay? No If you like sport on tv and expensive drinks then it’s ideal for you

Stopped here for a couple pints about 10 days ago. Great atmosphere. A local pub just a couple minutes walking from the tourist areas. Close to the train station too if ya need to kill some time before getting the train.

A lovely pub, very handy for the Theatre Royal, Winchester. The beer was great. The barmaid noticed that it was close to the end of a barrel, so got a new one set up and brought me over a delicious pint of real ale. All very friendly. We didn't try the food but the menu looked interesting

Great pub to watch sport. They always show international rugby and have a couple of screens outside. Gets busy on match days, and the atmosphere is great.

There is no food offer, so I can't judge it on that. Nice place. Seems to attract a slightly more mature crowd (40 somethings plus). It's had some work done on it over the past year or so, and it was a welcoming place to stay. Got a couple of tv's for sports (football was playing), but the music in the pub, when I visited, dominated the sound. Sensible prices, friendly staff on a busy early evening, well spaced out seating. Pleasant seating area outside and its covered - whether its raining or shining. I'll happily add this to places I'll go back to.
