For New Year’s Eve 2023, we were a party of seven who had traveled quite some distance to be together: two from Sweden, two from Switzerland, one from Paraguay, and ourselves from the U.S. We were all able to meet in Edinburgh for just 36 hours, and our experience with Whighams made our visit an absolute delight. The restaurant offered a five-course meal with wine pairings. Every dish was delicious, and we enjoyed the wine pairings very much. We were especially appreciative of the fact that they did not have a second seating. It was an act of generosity to have one seating, at a leisurely pace, with the option to stay until midnight (which we very nearly did). We truly appreciated the warm and friendly service, the cozy atmosphere, the amazing food, and the gift of time to ring in the new year with dear friends from far away. Highly recommended!
Very good kitchen, nice ambiente
Good food and wine list. We visited on a Sunday and there was excellent live jazz!
This came as a complete surprise!! It's a bar right??..great people, great wine & beer... fantastic music.and OMG great food too?? That's a score 💯 Be sure to try the cod and the hummus with caramelized onions. and ...sticky toffee pudding is ridiculous!!!! Hats of to the chef and staff🧑🍳.
A nice and lively bar right in the heart of Edinburgh city centre, just steps from Princes Street! Descending from street level, you’ll find yourself in this unusual yet elegant bar, with neat little subterranean niches to one side, and the main bar opening up to the right. The niches are great for a more private drink, with padded semicircular seating and table in the centre. Anyone over about 5ft 6in tall we want to be aware that the entry is low, so mind your head on! A nice selection of beers and other beverages are on offer, along with a nice food menu to sate your hunger.
