Booked in for a Sunday roast with the in-laws and the dog, so we were sat in the bar area, which was comfortable and cosy. Roasts came in next to no time after ordering, and gladly they weren't shy with the meat! Attentive staff, have been every time I've been in there. Think of it as more of a restaurant than somewhere for just a pint. Delicious roast. Will always be happy to come back!
It is always lovely to visit the Midland. The food and welcome were great. Clean tables clearly reserved for our booking. The only problem seemed to be the lack of staff. They were clearly run off their feet but all were so cheerful and happy to help.
Nice place to come for a drink. However food, especially the margarita pizza is well below par, and costs £13! Seemed like a frozen pizza and was undercooked. Also £4 for a tiny bowl of fries. Would come again for a drink but not for food
The pub itself has a welcoming and cosy ambience. All of the staff were professional, friendly and polite. The meal itself was average. Starter of soup was very good. Main course of seabass was disappointing. Found several bones in the fish and more potatoes and vegetables were needed to make this a substantial meal. The mini desserts were also disappointing. The white cheesecake did not resemble cheesecake, and, compared to similar establishments that offer a similar choice, the portions themselves were tiny.
Great lunch out in a lovely setting. Would had made 5 stars all round had my steak been rare rather than well done. I appreciate it can be difficult when you're so busy, but if you're going to give customers the option it's important to meet their expectation.
