We booked the private 'Meeting Room' for a funeral wake/reception. We arrived a bit earlier than scheduled but the manager and staff were very accommodating and had a good selection of teas, coffee and small snacks waiting for us. The buffet was freshly prepared and tasty. Consisted of a good assortment of dishes. We catered for 45 people but nearly 60 turned up. There was more than enough food and they quickly replenished the more popular dishes. Cannot fault them, they made a difficult day into a very pleasant experience. All of our guests were complementary of the service received, food and ambiance. We definitely recommend the Travellers Rest (Beefeater) Kenton Road.
Great breakfast for £10. Self-service and you can go back a few times so if you have a big enough stomach, you could stock up for the entire day. The English breakfast was great, all of the ingredients were tasty. The continental goods were also fantastic and were fresh and tasty. At times there was a need for a restock, which I waited a few minutes for, but it was fine all-in-all. The staff were all pleasant and the tables were clean and tidy too.
OK, but nothing more. Inadequate heating for winter. Requested to take the starter plates as the main was ready even though we had not quite finished the starter! The ribeye was out of stock. Overall, need to do better to survive IMHO.
Very nice steakhouse with good food and great decor. The waiting staff is really nice and helpfull. The place is combined with a pub and an inn that show the same sevice and quality of product. I personally like the steaks but there are some vegan optioneel on the menu that also taste great. The prices are reasonable, we ate with 2 persons and paid 25 pp including the drinks
By far the worse Beefeater I've ever been to. Booked a table in the restaurant stood waiting for 10mins before the waitress came over, said I had a table booked and was met by a sarcastic comment "what for 15 people" no that's the queue that's built up because I've been waiting so long. Then was another long wait before the meal order was taken. The starters came and was placed on the table randomly. The main course came as we was still eating our starters this time the chef left them on the table because I think the waitress had given up doing anything. Had a bottomless coke which never got refilled even after a few requests. Only positive was the food quality.
