Went for some breakfast and it was very delicious even better that it’s an all you can eat. Staff was friendly and very welcoming. Pricing is very good for both food and drinks. Will definitely be coming back to try their carvery. Would recommend.
Went Monday 8th Dec at lunch time for the first time. Excellent selection of food made it hard to choose and smelling the carvery made it harder. Food came out perfect with generous portions. The staff were exceptionally polite and friendly. I will be returning soon.
We were a party of 8 for a carvery lunch. The service was fantastic. Lisa was very friendly and coped brilliantly under pressure as she was the only staff member on table service. The food was lovely and the chef friendly and funny. They made for a great atmosphere. We enjoyed it so much we are booking again for our next get together in January. I just hope Lisa is working that day. I’ll check before I book as she made the day very special.
On a recent stay in Birmingham, we had dinner and drinks in the Malt Shovel. It was a lovely pub, and the food was very good and very reasonably priced, The barman Ethan was so friendly. He made us feel very welcome. It makes such a difference when staff are friendly and chatty. We would definitely recommend paying the Malt Shovel a visit.
Didn't get off to the best start, stood at the bar to order for 5 minutes before someone served us. Then walked through to the restaurant side of the pub to be waiting again for another 5 minutes to be served food, all this even after the staff saw us waiting. The place was empty at 6pm on a Tuesday. Anyway, once the person who cuts the meat arrives we got served , 2 nice slices of meat gammon and turkey, helping yourself to vegetables plus bubble & squeak. Got to say the meal was absolutely delicious the gammon was not salty, and the turkey was moist and tasty. I would definitely recommend this place for somewhere to eat. Carl
