The site of our pub was an ambulance station at the beginning of the 20th Century, but its place in history was secured when one of the first electric ambulances was stationed here in 1909. At night time and Sundays this one vehicle served the entire city. We are just off Bishopsgate, a street named after the Bishop's Gate, which stood opposite Camomile Street.

Couldn't book a table on the phone.. not really acceptable and the lady I spoke to was difficult to understand. As a result had to give a 1* rating. If we do eat there will give new revie Well we went back for lunch yesterday, glad we did, it was delicious Fish & " Chips with a pint of Timothy Taylor.. Great staff. Will certainly return.
Very nice pub with good food and friendly staff. It's very close to Liverpool Street Station. It's quite a large pub with a downstairs bar and gents. Upstairs is a smaller bar and the ladies. Between us, we had the sausage and mash, steak and ale pie and mash and a chicken and avocado sandwich with salad. All of the food was delicious.
Tuesday lunch with friends. The staff followed the correct protocol considering my friend's allergy. However, we did wait a very long time for our food; but this was helped by the generous offer of some drinks on the house and, fortunately, we were not in a rush at all. We very much enjoyed the quiet upstairs as we were able to talk and catch up. Overall, a good experience and we'll be back for Christmas!
Needed a place to escape for a pint from the noise and crowds of the main thoroughfares nearby and this pub hit the spot! Located on a quiet side street, this classic pub served some great cask ales (even their own brand) and had warm service and friendly vibes.
