About us

We have an extensive drinks menu including many local beers and spirits. Our beautiful courtyard is ideal for outdoor dining in the Summer. We are extremely dog friendly both in rooms and public areas and are well located for walking, cycling and touring Cotswolds.

In a 16th Century Inn that's a popular choice for later dining where menus make much use of fresh, local produce in the creation of imaginative British style dishes, The Lygon Arms Chipping Campden does not disappoint. Our seasonal British menu marries traditional favourites with more contemporary and imaginative fare, complemented by an excellent wine list.

Our Lounge Bar at The Lygon Arms Chipping Campden is ideal for a pre-dinner or pre Cotswold Walk drink in suitably cozy and traditional surroundings. The Lygon Arms is the ideal spot for afternoon tea in Chipping Campden where we offer delightable sandwiches, pastries, and teas daily from 1pm to 6pm in our Lounge Bar.

Came here for lunch and it was delicious. Lovely bar with a fire at each end so cosy and warm. Comfortable seating. Music not too loud. That’s gives them ten out of ten already. Then the lunch. The eight ounce beef burger was succulent with all the trimmings and the fat chips were hot and full of flavour. The Stilton and walnut pie had crisp pastry. Nice red cabbage and the fat chips were yummy. Very good size portions and the lady serving us was delightful and lovely. Ten out ten could not have been bettter.

I am very disappointed with this place, we were greeted at a locked door and when we asked are you closed? They stated some snide comments. We were made to feel bad for our mate who is a designated driver and the other is a recovering alcoholic. They were annoyed that only half of our group got pints. Which were overpriced and cost £6 for one drink. The named Jo Was very rude to all of us. I will never be returning to the Lygon arms I will tell all my friends to go to the volunteer inn instead. The pub was dead on a Friday night and we were made to feel bad and I would never usually review but I am very unhappy with my experience. I would never go there again. I hope they close down. I hope the lady named Jo is punished for this experience. Just bad business to be honest

We came to stay as a couple for a December weekend get away and had the most magical time at the Lygon Arms. The minute you walk through the festively decorated entrance you can’t help but feel cheerful. After a relaxing afternoon in the luxurious spa, a memorable dinner in the majestic dining hall and too many bottles of wine and rounds of chess by the fireplaces, we will certainly be back. I would definitely recommend the Lygon for a cosy getaway in the quaint streets of the Costwolds!

We stopped for lunch after a long walk. The ploughman’s was the best I’ve had. Food, service and the open fire were excellent. Thank you very much.

If there is one place you want to visit while in Chipping Campden, this is it! The food is absolutely delicious - honestly the best food we had during our 2 weeks in England. Just don’t make the same mistake we did: Make a reservation if you want to enjoy a Sunday roast at this pub. We did not, and I’ll probably spend the rest of my life dreaming about just how good their Sunday roast must be. Friendly staff, excellent food and charming atmosphere. (We only visited the pub, did not stay on premises)
