Visited for an early (12 person) family Christmas Dinner, travelled over front North Yorkshire for it. It had been booked for 3 weeks. Initially, they took a while to take our order due to another large good. Once they did, it was ok. The food came out, and it was amazing. All plates were empty by the end. Loved the Lamb and Roasted potatoes. They really made it. The only downside was that there seemed to not be enough staff on shift, which caused delays. Beer selection was off, but you don't gor for beer with great food.
We had wonderful service and the food was excellent thank you to everyone
Popped in for a meal at short notice and we were accommodated as it was quieter than usual apparently but it is a lovely Inn with pleasant staff, fabulous food which was very keenly priced and generous too. Lovely and clean and tidy. A credit to who does that! We’ll be back next time we’re in the area!
Table of 5 , ordered more drink when food eventually arrived our drinks served but left on the end of bar almost finished my meal and asked about our drinks to be abruptly told, it's not waiter service for drinks , our table was the first table by the bar bar man walked passed our drinks 6/7 times before I asked about them , then one pudding dish was taken away from the table and it wasn't even finished, she had gone to the toilet !
Homemade lasagne was lovely and the swapped the chips for some cauliflower cheese and vegetables. Super quick and great value.

Traditional 18th Century pub. Exactly what a Lake District pub should be, with low beams and roaring fires.

The Queen’s Head is a village pub with a difference. Lovingly renovated, and retaining much of its 17th Century character, its interiors offer everything you want from a cosy country pub.
