We stayed in one of the cottages the bedrooms were lovely there were a upstairs bathroom also a shower plus downstairs toilet and a laundry room the kitchen had everything you needed the only problem was the kitchen floor was dirty and the living room was lacking in comfort and needed updating the worst problem was the rug which had turned up corners which was quite dangerous as it was a trip hazard for everyone it was also very dirty its a shame because it took away the lovely building and luxury of the rest of the place as many others have stated in there comments please as the owners do take notice but don't actually do anything about it you have a lovely place so take a little time an get rid of that rug and it would be a lot nicer place which I would love to recommend

We stayed in the large cottage, in short it was brilliant, 3 big double bedrooms, 1 large single bedroom, 2 bathrooms, one with a very long bath and large powerful shower. There's a very well equipped kitchen with a large aga, a decent sized dining table. There is also a massive wood burning fireplace in an equally impressive living room, also a sunroom looking out on to a lawn with plenty of wildlife, lots of rabbits, hares, squirrels and birds. Just outside the living room, there is a hot tub in a private area. All this is in a lovely, quiet part of the world. If you want a great Indian restraunt/takeaway, there is one about 15mins away which is superb, spice valley.

Absolutely lovely cotrage, very spacious and clean,I would definitely book again. The only reason for giving 4* is that hot tub didn't look very clean and kitchen is not equipped with too many pans or enough plates of the same sort (but manageable nevertheless).

My wife took me here for 2 nights to celebrate my birthday. Great location, away from it all: we occupied room no. 1. The staff were great: friendly, helpful, and the service generally was excellent. The food also was first class: we had the 4-course taster menu and were very impressed by both the presentation and quality of food: super tasty! Breakfasts too were great, whether the home-made muesli, omelette or full English: absolutely no complaints. Our room was very pleasant: generally clean and spacious. Like the hotel in general, however, it was showing its age: "fraying at the edges" and in need of some investment in updating furnishings and decoration. This aspect certainly didn't spoil our visit, which we thoroughly enjoyed, but will need attention soon. Overall, 4/5 (4*).
