The Lord Nelson dates back to 1805, and visitors can enjoy historic original features and character in a relaxed and stylish setting that also incorporates contemporary design and décor. There is also a terrace overlooking the river, and during the warmer months there is extra outdoor seating available at the front.

Friendly lovely bar, good beer and top quality, great food!! Newly reopened and well worth a visit!
Luckily happened upon this lovely pub when staying for a night at the travelodge located nearby. They serve my favourite lager Spitfire AND do lovely cocktails; I enjoyed an espresso martini. Even got a free mocktail, (thanks Georgie!). This place is exactly what Dover needs, clean, refreshing and it just had a really good family friendly atmosphere. I will definitely be returning for some food and more drinks. What a gem of a pub. If you’re a tourist or a local - this place fits the bill.
Visited this during our recent trip to Dover on a very warm day. Lovely bar with friendly people. Had a Gin and Pimm’s cocktail, both were yummm. Enjoyed my time trying to complete the puzzle 😬 Also special mention for the very clean toilets 🙂
Best COLESLAW in the WORLD! We were only in town for a week, but we went back a few times because we loved it so much. It has a patio and plenty of space to relax. This place is all about good quality food and comfortable environment. The staff was super friendly, the beer was delicious and the food was amazing!
Group of six were down in Dover for a football match, and arranged to meet here as I discovered this fine place on google and was not disappointed. Exceptional quality finishing both inside and outside and was luckily enough to be able to seat outside on the decking as it was 20c plus on a barmy October afternoon. A few of the beers were not available due to issues beyond control, which was the only downside, but we are in a strange place at this time. 4 of us had the chicken and beef burgers which were absolutely lovely and very well presented. Would definitely visit again if back in the area

Situated in the heart of Dover and facing on to the Market Square this pub has had many incarnations over the years. Re-opened on Friday, 12th July 2019 - reverting to its original name.
