Came here for their Christmas menu and I was really satisfied! The atmosphere was lovely, the service was friendly and speedy. The food was absolutely delicious! The beef and dauphinoise potatoes in particular were just stunning, and I loved the homemade ginger beer.
Don't believe the hype. This place is pretentious. If you thinking about going there for roast, make sure you get there with even number of people cause you can only order 2 portions of the same meal. If you are 3 people you have to order 4 portions to start with. Do not try to ask questions to the staff, It angers them. If your food arrives cold, rather than changing the food they will lecture you about Chinese eating principals. (Not joking) Since it is a Sunday roast, you might want to have Yorkshire pudding. Not here sunshine! They are anti-Yorkshire pudding and you get treated like a criminal if you ask one. Vegetables are minimal. It is very pricey. Serving staff were not attentive, unfriendly. Pretentious and unwelcoming place trying to hard to be cool.
Good atmosphere and great food with friendly service. Their menu changes daily so be prepared you might not be able to get the same dishes you have enjoyed. Recommend to book in advance to avoid being turned away.
I live locally and have been a bit dismissive of this place but some generous friends got my partner and I a voucher so finally got round to trying this place. From the friendly attentive staff (who were very accommodating and knew the menu well) to the excellent (and generously portioned food) I've been made to literally eat my words. All the dishes we had were tasty but the scotch bonnet beef fat on toast and beetroot with pistachio cream a particular highlight. The dining room at the back is small-ish and can get quite noisy but otherwise, we had a lovely dinner.
