Part student hang out, part long-standing local favourite, this live music venue effortlessly blends old-school pints and traditional Sunday roasts with the up and coming artists of the modern comedy and music scene.
From the same people behind The Lock Tavern in Camden and Adventures In The Beetroot Field events. Time Out has described it as a "bionic superpub": a 300 live capacity out the back, fully equipped for bands and DJs; at the front, a proper, traditional pub with food being served all day; upstairs, the Take Courage, an individually curated art gallery space.
A traditional pub at the front. Good food and drink, great music, and even better people. Your new local.
Out the back, a 300 capacity live music venue. From new bands, big names, the best DJs and promoters around, comedy, local heroes, music from all over the place (both literally and metaphorically).
Upstairs, an individually curated art gallery, The Take Courage, featuring pieces from new and established artists as well as a comfy sofa area. The pub phone number: 0208 4691499.

Limited non-alcoholic options. Female toilet complete let down. No paper, no soap, flush in one cubicle and hand drier not working. But nicely warm.
Mostly good, we played a show here recently, sound staff we're great and the facilities are great. The biggest issue personally was the room next to the stage where the band keep equipment's is horribly cramped, 9 or 10 bands were playing and everything was stacked on top of each other, making it really easy to get your gear damaged without knowing until you get home. We were the first band on, I waited in the bar to see the people who had come to see us but they didn't open the doors at the time the promoter said they would, I asked the bar staff and they said the doors opened at 7, 3 bands played before that. Bar staff then looked at me like I was thick when I pointed out the error, he said the venue was separately run and had it's own opening times, which is understandable but the entrance to the venue is in the pub...promoter was okay, kind of hassled you a bit to sell tickets which I get. The night was apparently 65% sold out, but it was mostly bands playing to bands all night, so I don't know who was buying the tickets because the place was empty most of the night.
Went for pop up shop. Super fun! Cool that they host a variety of events
Spent my first night in London here. It was awesome! Great vibe, friendly staff, and even friendlier patrons. I really enjoyed the karaoke. That's my jam! It's not obvious at first, but near the bathrooms, there is a passage way that leads to a club at the back. Something I discovered the second time I went. They also have an outside patio area for smokers and "fresh" air when you need it. They have bouncers, nice guys, who will check your bags and may pat you down real quick as needed.
One of my favourite pubs in London!!! Always a great atmosphere with some funny characters inside. The staff are generally pretty good but it can get quite busy at times, especially when they have some bands playing in the back room! The smoking area can get a bit tight, but no real issues. If you can get to the upstairs outdoor area it’s always a cute vibe!!
