The food is reasonable, 2 meals for £11.99 can't be grumbled at I suppose, and good value for pensioners!.. I feel the staff are dealing with a fast turnover , which puts a lot of pressure on them, the bar I feel usually makes excuses as to problems with the beer pumps, a result of alternative drinks that aren't that palatable!.. The whole ambiance, service has declined in recent years, such a shame tbh,.. as it was a highlight of the town at the offset...
Shout out to our server Jamie who worked tirelessly and enthusiastically throughout the meal - really was great at his job. Food was fab too. Second time we’ve been here. I recommend.
Poor service, waitress wasn’t bothered. Food wasn’t the worst, however not much effort was made with presentation, burger slapped on plate with a handful of chips and a dollop of Coleslaw. Flat soft drinks. Follows a trend here, used to be excellent now poor.
Not good, I suggest very poor management. There were far too many customers for the number of staff. The staff looked fed up, the service was terrible. No ales..in a pub! We had booked 6 days ahead, so they knew we were coming. This is not up to previous standards. Waiting over an hour for drinks and even longer for food. But I must say that what we had was good value for money. That alone isn't good enough. We do try to support our local establishments. Come on management!
The Liskeard Tavern is right next to the Premier Inn and serves breakfasts in the morning. The people there were friendly, unfortunately they were missing some vegetarian options from the menu at the time we visited due to not having the ingredients. I had the no-chicken vegan parmigiana, which was nice enough, could have maybe done with a little more barbecue sauce and the THIS Isn't Bacon slices were a little over. There are the usual selection of beers, spirits, soft drinks etc. and a good patio out front where you can take drinks if weather permits.
