Stayed at the Lion for 2 nights last week. Warm welcome on arrival. Room (double) was large, clean and airy with en suite shower and toilet. Bed was reasonably comfortable. Teaa/Coffee makings in the room. As expected there weren't many guests staying due to the time of year. Hotel us ideally located in the centre of Criccieth with good parking at the rear. Easy walk to the beach. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Staff were friendly, attentive and informative.
Used to come here as a child. Came here with my children for half term. The new owners have done a great job in giving the place a refresh whilst keeping the traditional and cosy atmosphere. The place looks great, fantastic local beer, great service and incredible food. The fish and chips was spot on. Great to see such an important pub in great hands and thriving.
Called in for Tea. Very tasty food and good beer. Starters were Crab Cakes and Prawns in Garlic Butter and Cheesy Garlic Bread to share, then we both had Beef Teriyaki with Chips and Rice. Very tasty. Service was great, staff were friendly and helpful. Will call again when next down that way.
Great value food and excellent choice. Beer great, best of the local brews. Staff so friendly too. Been done up iver the last year and done a fantastic job. Can't wait to come back!
Not too bad however...... the lady who served us blatantly didn't want to be there. It's been a while since I've been served by someone so miserable! I'm not sure hospitality is for her, certainly not front of house. The food wasn't too bad really so not much to mention there, the chicken nuggets went down well!! The new decking looks great however the steep incline on the ramp could get slippy in the wrong footwear. A hand rail on the new fence to the left may be a good idea. I witnessed 2 people almost get taken out by the guttering on the corner of the building also. It's at chest/face height when you're on the upper decking and when you step down it could get dangerous. Mens toilets smelt great and were lovely and clean. I'll come back for sure l, hopefully I'll be served by one of the younger more keen members of the team who make the effort to say thank you and can break a smile on occasion.
