The Lifeboat stands proudly over East Cowes Marina, which is a huge favourite of visiting yachtsmen in the summer, but also a family-friendly home-from-home for locals too.
Situated on the waterfront of the Medina River in East Cowes, The Lifeboat is already one of the area’s most popular bars and restaurant. We offer a warm welcome to locals and visitors alike – from land or water! We are just a few minutes walk from Cowes Floating Bridge. In the summer, our large outside decking area offers one of the best riverside dining experiences on the Island.

Great breakfast! I judge a full English on the sausage and this was excellent- firmly packed and perfectly seasoned. The bacon was also better than supermarket standard. All the rest was very good and served quickly and on a warm plate. Service was efficient and friendly in a very nicely decorated pub. Highly recommended!
Popped in to try, after reading your reviews. The pub is well situated, good parking, nice views. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is lovely, laid back, good music and comfortable lighting. We both decided on the chicken curry, although the menu offered a huge choice. The dishes were well presented, served with a poppadom, onion, and mango chutney. The curry was hot in temperature, and very moreish. We really didn't want to leave. Well done fantastic hospitality.
Delicious food, the portion size of which won’t leave you hungry at all. I had the whitebait (about 18-20 pieces) with chips, salad and homemade slaw; my son had a fully-loaded burger; daughter had scampi; wife and her friend both had the halloumi salad. Happy diners all around. Taste the local ales, enjoy an outdoor table as the sun sets, and leave with full bellies, all for a snippet of some of the prices you pay elsewhere.
Best chicken burger + trimmings I have ever had. Absolutely delicious and food was nice and hot. Staff were friendly and efficient. Nice atmosphere and great views out onto the marina. Excellent restaurant.
Loved it, Googled somewhere for dinner before getting ferry, and found this pub last minute... brilliant menu lovely big modern pub with a nice outside area for warmer days. Brilliant menu with some unusual choices as well as your standard pub meals, specials available as well and even some cocktails. Very reasonable prices we had a great meal here and puddings.... service was very friendly and we would definitely go back
