I really love the lamp on top of the fish bowl although it did cause a tiny fire (see image below) place was toasty and nice and the food was lit! steak was a bit too well done but overall it was fire, very well managed with the best owner who has really helped flame the business to what it is today and it has got to be the hottest place I've ever been to
Staff were friendly, polite, and helpful, a lovely feeling to the place and food was divine make sure you book and if you want lamb or chicken breast order when you book the table
Staff very welcoming. Good value. Lovely fire. Clean. Sausage and steak baguettes looked lovely, except I chose the awful, overbaked and very salty lasagne! My husband's chilli was very nice!
I'd originally booked the hotel to go to a festival nearby, but had to cancel a few months prior due to other commitments. Everyone I spoke to was extremely helpful & friendly, so whilst I didn't stay at the hotel on this occasion, I don't doubt the hotel is as excellent as their customer service. If I'm able to go to the festival next year, The Shambles will be my first choice.
Excellent carvery. Nice and hot , choice of beef or pork. Think they had some chicken and gammon thanks as well. I had the beef, I'd have preferred more rare, but happy with it. Nice and tasty. Had a couple of good pints of pedigree. Bar staff very welcoming and efficient. Well spaced out during these covid days.
