Didn't have food but the pub is very good great atmosphere staff friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices.
Visited recently for our Sunday lunch which we pre-booked mid week. Great carvery food, Beef, Turkey and gammon plus all the trimmings... fantastic wholesome freshly cooked meal. Great friendly staff plus brilliant atmosphere. We used the bar area before and after the meal. I was too full to try the desert but my wife did and it looked amazing...it tasted good too was the report from the other side of the table. Recommend this pub for it's food, beer and atmosphere but i would pre-book your table. From memory the Sunday lunch is on from 1230-1430/1500. We will return..thank you.
Lovely food, good price and very welcoming. Would definitely go again. Thank you.
Good town centre pub with some of my favourite beers. Great landlady! Nice modern function room.
I had a bad experience today in this pub. My pint of beer was cloudy and opaque. I returned it to the bar, and the server explained it was a dark beer. I agreed, it was dark, but I was uncomfortable with the cloudiness. That's how it's meant to be – it's a dark beer, and no one else has complained. She moved on to serve another customer, leaving me awkward and embarrassed at the bar. Watched by customers, I returned to my seat with my cloudy and untouched beer – maximum embarrassment. When I felt few people would notice, I gathered my belongings and slipped out. I went to The Queens Head, a pub where I always feel welcome. I accept that I may have been at fault; maybe it is an intentionally cloudy beer. But my concern could, and should, have been handled more sympathetically. I will find it impossible to enter The Greyhound again.
