Been to Wunderbar a number of times now for The Book Club which is held downstairs. The drinks menu is extensive and affordable and the service is quick. The downstairs area has a lovely atmosphere and its own bar which is well staffed.
Myself and my girlfriend were rejected entry by the bouncer for being too old (43). Was visiting the town and just fancied a few drinks. I had to pull over another bouncer who looked a little more in charge and explain the law to him. We got in and probably spent more in there than the rest of the students in there combined. Management needs to educate their staff as you are baring the wealthy.
My group of 6 wasn’t let in on my birthday despite it being very quiet with no queue. Five of us were let in and the last person wasn’t let in due to apparently having too much to drink, bear in mind we got there at 9pm and had been for dinner and drinks earlier only. They were very rude in rejecting us so I would suggest you pick another bar to go to if you want a nice night out in Glasgow
Always busy in the evening and super loud. But the music consistently delivers. Good place for a work’s night. Is quite pricey so maybe not ideal for students. The upstairs bar is notably quicker
In for a few drinks absolutely packed on at Saturday night, once got close to bar difficulty getting a round of drinks. Bouncers overly interested in where we’d been, dinner reservations so a supposedly quick drink.
