From the minute we entered the carpark we were greeted by friendly staff. This pub is a gem. The food was amazing and really good value. All staff were friendly and attentive and couldn't do enough for us. We didn't feel like outsiders at all, like someone put in a previous review, quite the opposite. We will definitely be returning.
A lovely village pub with a friendly welcome. Probably could use a little TLC and decorating but this is a pub that walkers and locals can call into. Bar menu or sandwich menu was small. About 5 sandwiches on it. We had cheese and ham which came with a salad garnish and a few chips.(slightly under cooked.) Overall it was OK.
We visited after a recommendation from the campsite owner we were stopping on. We had cycled to the pub and as we sat outside the heavens opened and torrential rain. Poured down. Very kindly the gentleman behind the bar said we could bring in our bikes and sit in the walkers bar. A great space with stone floors. We decided to have food and we were not disappointed. Fantastic food and the prices were very reasonable. When back in the area will be visiting again. On the bar they had cask ale and a great selection of gins. Would highly recommend as very friendly staff, friendly regulars, very accommodating and the food was fantastic.
Had a lovely meal while holidaying in the area, home made steak pie X2 and Hunters chicken. Had a good walk through the fields with the dogs the following lunch time and had snack (BLT). Lovely traditional country pub, highly recommended. Bombardier was bang on too.
Beautiful little pub! The exterior is breathtaking. The food service was very quick and the portions are amazing. The cheesecakes were HUGE!! Which is lovely to see as lots of places have them very small. Overall 10/10 will be back!
