We have been using this pub regularly for the last two years but not again after our family visit on Saturday 07/01 . On arrival our party of seven was seated and my son in law took his children into the soft play as usual. For the first time ever he was told he had to pay £4.50 per child. We have never had to pay before so he said he would take the children out but was told as they had gone into the soft play that he had to pay. My daughter asked to speak to the manager who on arrival was very rude and aggressive towards her his name is Raoul. He told us that we had always had to pay I told him that we have never been asked to pay for the soft play whilst having a meal and we had been there plenty of times. We pointed out that there was no signage at the entrance to the pub or soft play stating that there was a charge. We were rudely told that there was a sign inside the play area but it isn't visible until you are in there. We were then told that he would remove the charge from our bill but we are no longer welcome to return. When our food arrived it was of poorer quality than previously and a lot smaller portions. By barring us he has lost regular customers but we wouldn't be going back after this especially when we food is as bad as his attitude.

For your typical chain restaurant, the experience is enhanced by the eye of detail in the food and service. Hot food, clean venue, friendly staff. Charlotte was a very lovely human being who you can tell cares very much about her staff team and the quality of service they deliver. Thank you for a very nice experience.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Sedgemoor Cookhouse. I was refused service for no reason, and I was left feeling humiliated and angry. I arrived at the restaurant on a Friday evening with my partner. We were seated at a table and given menus. We ordered our drinks and food, and then we waited. After about 15 minutes, a waitress came to our table and said that the chef had refused to cook our food. She didn't give us any reason for this, and she just shrugged when we asked her why. We were shocked and confused. We had done nothing to offend the chef or the staff, and we couldn't understand why they were refusing to serve us. We asked to speak to the manager, but he was nowhere to be found. The waitress said that she would try to find him, but she never came back. We waited for another 10 minutes, but the manager still didn't appear. We were so disgusted by the way we had been treated that we decided to leave. As we were walking out of the restaurant, we saw the chef standing in the kitchen. He was laughing and joking with the other staff members. It was clear that he didn't care that he had ruined our evening. I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated at Sedgemoor Cookhouse. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you are looking for a place to eat where you will be treated with respect, then you should avoid Sedgemoor Cookhouse at all costs.

Front of house service friendly and efficient but refused a breakfast order before 10.30 and seemed in a huge hurry to clear away breakfast products. It made me feel as if I was being rushed. The breakfast had obviously been prepared perfectly. However, despite being under heat lamps, it was only luke warm which was disappointing. The venue was clean and comfortable.

Me and my boyfriend went the Sunday carvery - traveled an hour just for it as it’s the best around!! Served by Paul who was 5*, friendly and bubbly man who made us feel welcome. The man serving the carvey is a smiley face and always gives generous portions. Thanks guys :)
