Great hotel in stunning location. The staff are wonderful and made my family feel really special. The food was great and even better, they catered for my celiac son. The only negative thing for me is that the rooms are a little tired and could do with a freshen up. But overall, we loved our stay.
If you are looking for a short stay for your business trip then this hotel is perfect. Very close to industrial Area and offices in walkable distance. Also there are quite a good Indian Restaurant (Namaste & The Indian Village)close by to the hotel which give you a pleasant feeling. Hotel is walkable distance from Sandwich railway station and near town center. Recommend Hotel for business Trip
Great location for exploring Sandwich and local coastal towns. Mum and I had a very comfortable stay, generous, tasty breakfasts (Chef, I loved my avocado and poached eggs on sourdough!) and the staff were friendly and helpful (thanks Brendan). Delightful to see so much cheer. The hotel itself has many vestiges of the past and oozes character from the moment you walk through its rotating doors. A lovely weekend stay.
Lovely old hotel in a great location for exploring Sandwich. The staff are great, friendly & helpful. We had a family room for 3 adults, it was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great, and they had some great options for the Vegans in our party. As it’s an old hotel the windows are single glazed, so not much protection from outside & road noise. That said it didn’t bother us but some may want to take earplugs. The spaces for cars (just 4) at the front of the hotel are out of action due to redecoration but the Quay car park is just a few steps away. Enjoyed staying here, would stay again.
I took my parents there for lunch today. We only went for food, so I can’t comment on the rooms. However the food and service was excellent. My parents both had Haddock and Chips and I had the chicken with smashed new pototoes and mushrooms, served with a wine and mushroom sauce. The food was excellent and so were the desserts. The Bell is nicely decorated and the staff are really friendly. The next time I’m down from Milton Keynes I will be paying another visit. 10 out of 10.
