We had 2 nights booked by our travel agent but cancelled after the first night. The room and bathroom were subpar; tiny, noisey and very uncomfortable bed! Food was ok but slow.
What a great place for a drink ! The bar area has a great atmosphere and the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. Within minutes we were having conversations with the two bar staff and locals which was very entertaining and informative. We hadn’t planned on having food but as we had a table in the bar (the restaurant was full) we asked if we could eat there and it was the same menu as the restaurant. We had Ham Hock to start followed by Steak and Chicken Balamory all washed down with a bottle of red. This was followed by Chocolate Oblivion! The food and service was so good we returned for drinks and dinner 3 times during our week in Tobermory. Can’t wait until next year when we will back !
Wow! We were so thrilled with The Tobermory Hotel. My husband and I got married on the isle of Mull last week and hosted the after-ceremony dinner at the hotel restaurant. Their team was so accommodating, down to every last detail! The menus were customized and napkins folded in the shape of bride and groom. Our guests cannot stop raving about the quality of the food, service and ambience of this place. Our wedding night was spent at the hotel and the room worked out perfectly for us - waking up to the sunrise on the bay. Thank you to Emma and team for making this such a memorable night for us!
The Tobermory Hotel is, IMO, the most centrally located hotel on Mull. Views are spectacular. The bar and restaurant are excellent. I saw the fisherman deliver the fresh lobster and crab, hence our choice of dinner. The lobster was incredible. Hot with butter and garlic (IIRC) and with a light chargrilled flavour. Our room was acceptable but a little tired looking in places. For £200 a night, it wasn't quite up to my expectations. Wallpaper peeling a bit in the window area. It was fine but the least good thing.
A very nice stay. If the bed in our room would have been better it would have been 5* review. Make sure you have dinner here because the food in the restaurant is out of this world along with the service. Breakfast is cooked to order anx very tasty with a lot of options.
