We have just had another lovely Sunday Roast at the Humble Plumb. It was a lovely atmosphere which was largely due to the bubbly and friendly staff members Bethanie and Izzy. We shall be back soon!
We have just had a fabulous roast , everything cooked well, pea and leak gratin was delicious. New chief I believe. All served by the polite and smiley Bethanie and Izzy Great value too . Will definitely be back.
We booked a table in advance but, on arrival, we were told there was no table available, as there was a question mark against the booking! However, a member of staff did go to great lengths to get us a table but, then the evening just went from bad to worse. When the meals arrived, they had only catered for 6 members of our party rather than the 7. We were told there would be a 5 minute delay for the final meal but that delay turned in to 15 minutes plus by which time the entire evening was ruined and the 7th meal never did arrive. There was a guest singer who was so loud there was no chance of any communication taking place around the table. The final bill did not reflect the awful experience we had. Therefore as much as we would want to support a local business, we will not be visiting this pub again.

Came here for Sunday Dinner and surprisingly this is one of the only pubs not classed as an official Carvery where you can order a roast until 9 PM! We ordered a fantastic Beef Roast Dinner & the trio of Sausages, Mash and Peas after 8 PM and there was no issue. Service from the staff was great and the pub had a great Sunday evening atmosphere! Both dishes were great and the portion size was spot on! I even squeezed space in for the speciality Humble Plumb Crumble which was a delight! This place is also dog friendly, you can even order four legged friend a doggy meal here which is quite rare for a local pub! Will definitely be coming back to try more dishes!
