Through no fault of the staff, Ben in particular, but no heating in our room and other rooms I understand, we were offered additional free standing heaters which we didn't need at the time of check in. The room had one window with a frosted finish - so no view, and as we were at the back of the hotel we had to put up with the kitchen extractor fan running all night!!!! As I was offered an upgrade at an extra fee of £20 I was shocked by what I got, I wouldn't have called the room a deluxe room at all, but actually I wasn't charged the extra £20 Sadly we won't be staying there again
Good old vintage building, but hard to deal with the building maze structure and lots of ups and downs while going to the rooms , the restaurant is good , but the service was insufficient. The idea of outsourcing the fitness to a location of almost a mile far isn't smart , rather to dedicate small space instead ... Had bad experience with visiting the gym which was almost 15-20minutes running from the hotel at a rainy morning ...
We stayed as part of my proposal to my now fiancee, the staff especially Millie and Hakeem could not have done more to make our stay better. The rooms are beautiful with some having a bath in the main room and the hotel having the consistent theme of dark wood and leather throughout. We had a small housekeeping issue that was quickly solved at night moving to another room on the same side of the building for convenience. I had stayed here prior to this visit and had no issues so rest assured it is a one-off. Once again a big thank you to the team for making the stay extra special. General practical notes: Parking on the actual hotel at £10/day this is limited but they do provide permits on-street for the same price. These expire at 12pm the next day and the parking enforcement are vicious so ensure you have moved to the hotel car park or onwards before then.
Stayed at Hotel du Vin this weekend with my husband and two boys. The room was decorated beautifully, however when the double sofa bed was out, it out off access to the bathroom, you had to claim over the bed, which was tricky in the middle of the night, I scared my youngest son. The bathroom was fabulous, the best water pressure I've ever experienced in a hotel. I filled the roll top bath in a minute flat. We really enjoyed the bar in the evening and the breakfast the next morning. Lots of options.
Popped in on a Friday afternoon with a friend just for a drink. I really like the Du Vin, lovely decor and great location. Sadly they seem to b very short of staff, something I have noticed on my last few visits, be it just to the bar or the restaurant. On this occasion had to hunt out a staff member who served us but promptly vanished...
