Hop & Kilderkin is a friendly atmosphere with very helpful staff and great beer and food. There is a friendly game of poker on Thursday and Sundays starting at 8pm. Highly recommended to families
I visited on a Friday night and found this pub disappointing. I didn't order any food, and only had 1 beer because I wanted to leave so quickly. The music was way too loud and a couple of 8 year old boys were banging some pool cues on the floor and then had a light sabre fight.
If you,re looking for a good honest pub then look no further. The beer is reasonably priced, the food is excellent and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Good cross section of people from students to mature drinkers but this is to the popularity of the pub I feel. Well worth a visit if you,re bored with the monotone JD establishment's.
Went in this evening group of 8, first to order food all food arrived but mine didn't arrive asked lady serving food were my was. Went away to find out were it was didn't come back, went to bar to ask no apology basically couldn't care! Refunded cost of food however it was £6.29 burger £5.29 plus £1.00 for a pint. When refund got given taken full cost of my pint so no food and out of pocket! Bad service, bar staff couldn't care less. Recommendation avoid!
Food's great, staff are great and prices are great. But there's not enough peppercorn sauce on the steak to fill a hole in your tooth. And listening to the adverts full blast between football games is a bit painful
