Quoted as being the most unusual pub in Britain, The Highwayman Inn sits surrounded by the luscious and mysterious countryside that is Dartmoor National Park.
Open Mic Music Nights are held regularly as are Poetry Evenings and other random theme nights. We cater for and encourage artists of all kinds.
We are sympathetic to a wide range of belief systems and can cater for Pagan, Humanist and other alternative flavours of ceremonies.
Lunchtime food and drink includes organic, vegan and vegetarian
options and ranges from a wide range of Oggies (Pasties) to beef, cheese, ham, salmon or other platters, soup or pies.
Evening Menus are usually reserved for our resident guests but include Lobster Thermidore, Seabass, Scallops, Steaks and other options including some for those with 'unusual' requirements.
Visitors to The Highwayman Inn are left with a sense of inner calm and a strong yearning to return as soon as possible.

What an interesting place to stop at. Wherever you look, something catches your eye. You could spend ages looking at all the curious items here. The steak pie was delicious. The staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful. This is definitely on my return to list. Well worth a visit
Only had a few days til i had to go back home to the states and my boyfriend at the time surprised me by taking me here. I love quirky anything and this is as quirky as they come. Friendly staff and there’s so much to see. I didn’t stay here only was here for a beer or 2 but definitely worth a visit for sure!
The quirkiest, most delightful pub I've ever visited. Didn't eat here but the menu is extensive. Mostly veggie/vegan/plant-based menu but some meat dishes too. You have to visit to appreciate its eccentricity. Staff are very friendly and welcoming to pooches. Just a few hundred yards off the A30 and plenty of parking available.
Absolutely fantastic. The staff and the Landlady are so friendly. The pub is one of the best I've ever been in. Cant wait to visit again. And they let us park up over night too. Definitely recommend a visit. Food is lovely x
Honestly the most amazing and beautiful pub I've ever been to. We love old, quirky pubs and have been to many, this absolutely beats them all, hands down. The decor is breathtaking, the staff were utterly incredible and so friendly, and the food was divine. We loved everything about it and cannot wait to go back
