I visit this pub most times I visit Oxford, it’s a beautiful atmosphere, fantastic location with beautiful views of the river and very easy to get to. The food was brilliant, had a reasonably priced club sandwich, although some believe it to be expensive you do get what you pay for. Was strange to hear no music at all in a pub space like this but was very peaceful when I came here mid week for lunch. Overall, very impressed and will be back!
Friendly and witty staff made our lunchtime most enjoyable, as did the food itself, the sausage sharing platter was excellent. The added benefit of a decent selection of wines and having Draught HSB available, enhanced the experience still further. One minor disappointment was the rather expensive price of a Gin and tonic, in comparison to other pubs
My review is of the pub, not the accommodation. Beautiful location, probably the best in Oxford. Right next to the Thames. Excellent view from their riverside garden. Plenty of outdoor seating. There are seats inside as well. Very welcoming staff. In general, the place gives out very good vibes. It is on the expensive end though.
Cozy rooms, fantastic service, and great food. The only downside was that it was quite noisy, though luckily not too bad between 10pm and 7am. As I was in the rooms facing the pub terrace, that was to be somewhat expected, but it was surprising to hear metal kegs being moved around on weekdays (Tuesday/Wednesday) so much, relatively early in the mornings (around 7:30-8:00am). This occured during both mornings of my stay. Overall, fantastic and very accommodating staff though, and a great location to be in walking distance of everything in Oxford.
Visited here on the 1st of October 2023 for lunch. There were 15 or 16 people in the entire party. We had ordered some appetisers and some mains beforehand as per their request. We were seated outdoors. They were able to accommodate us well. The location is fabulous and we walked through the Meadows to get there. The place was lovely and dog friendly, which is always a pleasure to see! The order was quite extensive and it was nice that they were able to manage us well. However, the food was ok but not the best. A couple of us had ordered the roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and sides with it, but the beef had a lot of fatty content and the Yorkshire pudding was lacking, as in it had a slightly strange smell and aftertaste of some type of oil. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. The desserts were also very nice (sticky toffee pudding and brownies). They did not have a lemon tart available on the menu. Otherwise they were welcoming and the location was very nice. The weather was absolutely lovely, so we all did have a great time.

A literal stone's throw from Carfax, the crossroads that marks the centre of the city of Oxford, Old Tom has provided a welcome watering hole for Oxford's town and gown since at least the end of the 17th century.
