Visited on the way home from a walk along the Thames. The pub felt cosy and warm and was a nice way to spend a couple of hours. It benefits from a great position on the edge of the Thames and has a nice view which you can enjoy from the windows or balcony on a nice day. We didn't eat on this occasion, but they had a good selection of wines to choose from. Highly recommend!
The Hart Boatyard in Surbiton offers a cozy riverside retreat with a mixed experience. The ambiance is charming, providing a pleasant setting for a relaxing outing. We indulged in their hot chocolate, which, while tasting good, erred on the side of being too milky and sweet for our preference. However, the prices were reasonable and fair, balancing the overall experience. The venue's proximity to the water adds a delightful touch to the atmosphere, making it a decent spot for casual gatherings. If you have a sweet tooth and enjoy a riverside view, The Hart Boatyard might be worth considering, but those with a preference for less sweetness in their hot chocolate might want to explore other options.
Previous experiences here have been pleasant. However, we came for Sunday dinner and had a terrible experience. Shocking! We were a group of 5 and having had to wait 15 mins for a table we booked, we were eventually sat down on a table for 4. When we asked to be moved, we were told we had to give the table back in 1hr 45 mins. Not wanting to rush we asked to speak to the manager who wasn’t very helpful but was offered another table but had to wait another 30 mins. Then we had to wait ages for the food and when the main course arrived, it was cold. They took my husbands food away and put it back in the microwave to warm up. Gave us more veg which was uncooked. Potatoes and vegetables were supposed to be roasted but hadn’t seen the oven for long! Garnish was wilted. Grisley beef and would be surprised if it was sirloin and not worth £20. Miserable staff and management who were more interested in getting a party prepared. Not once after speaking to the manager about moving tables did he even look at us or check if everything was okay. This place needs to train their staff in customer service. It seems because we asked for a different table at the beginning we were now being ignored but looking at other reviews it seems we are not the first to encounter awful service here. When I complained at the end because we had to wait so long to pay, the staff were rude! Extremely rude! It’s Christmas and there was certainly no Christmas spirit in there. Very disappointed. Do not recommend. I will never return to this place.
Its simply my favorite place, organized a birthday party last month for 30 people, and a Christmas party for 20 people this month, Jess and the rest of the team including Chris and Sarah took a great care of us from preparation to service, food quality and atmosphere.. simply a solid 10! Everybody felt welcomed at this restaurant.. very glad I chose this place for my parties 🙌🏽 Thank you Jess and the team!
Decoration was good. Restrooms were clean. They have good kids menu. We sit by the window and view was peaceful. We ordered kids dish and sides for the table. All food was delicious. I will definitely go again 👍
