We have stopped at the Hand and Shears on a few occasions when passing and always left feeling well fed and very happy. The generous portions and quality of food are outstanding. The service is warm and attentive. They are also very dog friendly which was nice. How a pub should be!!!
Lovely place to eat Good parking opposite Food was great. Good portions and good prices. Pie, meatballs and mussels were all lovely Shared a brownie which I would recommend Would only mention tables were abit sticky. Could do with table cloths or sanding down Would recommend đź‘Ť Dog friendly
Started with crispy pork belly and fried squid & prawns, both were excellent, pork belly was extremely tender with a crispy outer. Absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch, really fresh, great variety of veg, perfectly cooked meat and a huge Yorkshire pudding! Really friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and dog friendly, only 10 mins from our walk around blenheim palace! I would highly recommend!
I had one of my favourite meals here, the swordfish which was a special. Tonight I had a risotto which was nice (and very pretty!) but we really struggled to get drink orders fulfilled. Overall, having now been here a few times, I would say it’s a lovely place with decent food. Sometimes the food is amazing, other times it’s just okay. The staff are very friendly.
Stopped in for a Sunday lunch. Was super easy to book a table, service was great, and the food was amazing. Not only was the pork well cooked with crispy crackling, but the trimmings were not oversights either. The Yorkshires were amazingly fluffy, the roast potatoes were lovely and the gravy was rich and flavourful. Oh, and the inside of the pub is beautiful. Happy to have discovered this local gem.
