The famous King & Queen Pub can be found in the heart of the yachting world, in Hamble's cobbled High Street. Open all hours God sends, (subject to licensing law) for table service only, serving a range of good home-made food, real ales, a selection of fine wines and a range of rums or gins, for our thirsty yachtsmen and women. You can sit in the beautiful courtyard garden which has heaters and is covered for inclement weather; or on chillier days you can sit indoors and enjoy a real log fire or wood-burner in our bar and restaurant areas, which are decorated with mirrors, candelabras and nauticalia. The courtyard garden has a wood-fired pizza oven and every Wednesday evening in the summer months (weather dependent), we cook outdoors and make legendary thin-based pizzas. Every Thursday evening, throughout the year, is our Grill Night Menu: select from huge Tomahawk Steaks, Rib-eye or Fillet Steaks while non-meat-eaters can have Fish & Chips, a Vegan Burger or a Salad. This is another very popular evening and usually fully booked. Free WiFi while you work, comfy seating areas and excellent coffee and cakes; great for business meetings or dates. Well-behaved dogs on leads (and owners) are most welcome both indoors and out. We take all major credit and debit cards. We do not have highchairs, but we do cater for children and have a Kid’s Menu. Couldn't really find any fault with it. Nice location, busy but not too busy. Service was as expected, prices were not unreasonable and food was really good. Had a load of books that you could sit and read and games that you could play which made it feel very homely. And outdoor seating available for the warmer months. Really enjoyed our visit.
Went for their pizza night. Lovely pizza, cooked fresh to order in their outside stone oven. The garden had a cosy atmosphere and staff very kind and responsive. Would go again when next in the area.
Steak night! I love this place. My parents lived nearby for several years so this became popular, I visited again with my brother last night. Food is great, Thursday was steak night and we had the Tomahawk to share. A great selection of beers, cider and wine before moving on to the rum! The staff are great and I look forward to going back. Adding an old fashioned to the menu would get it six stars.....
I stopped here on a lovely summer afternoon with my husband and family for some drinks. It has such a beautiful and cozy outdoor patio, with plenty of seating, lots of lush plants and flowers, and overhead canopies and umbrellas to keep us cool. We only had drinks, so I can't speak to the food. But the drink menu was extensive enough. I had a Mortimer's berry cider that was delicious and refreshing. Cheers!
First time to day at the King and Queen. Had dinner in the garden. Very polite and friendly service. Order taken promptly . Drinks served soon after. Food after cooking time. Nicely presented and tasty. Inside and outside seating. Good range of food. Two pay carparks one as you come in to the village one by the river and ferry . Road down quite steep and a bit uneven.
