Lovely pub and restaurant. Sunday lunch was OK but not wonderful. The chicken was great, but the pork and beef were below expectations. The sweets were good but the creme caramel and shortbread was served without the biscuit. When we asked we were told there were no biscuits left: we should have been told that when we ordered. No discount was given for this error.
Almost perfect, but the advertised cooked breakfast wasn't available, the Sunday roast beef was tough, and the pillows weren't very comfortable. Such a shame as it's a great place otherwise. We really enjoyed the quiz, which I think is the first Sunday of the month and the lady who does it is really lovely. It's a beautiful village too.
This is how pubs should be. So often we get dreary overpriced food, but not at the George. Excellent beer and well cooked food especially the fresh al dente vegetables. They still do a good Sunday Lunch, which I was beginning to think was extinct. Well done!
Delightful, proper old pub in a beautiful village. All nooks and crannies and little wood panelled rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent ales. Lovely choice on the menu and excellent food. Freshly cooked scotch egg anyone?
Stayed here for one night. Rooms are a good size, comfy bed with a great shower and wet room. Had dinner and the food was lovely. All well priced. Staff very nice and attentive. Would stay again if visiting. Our dog enjoyed his stay as well!
