We visited on a Sunday for lunch. We ordered the Shropshire beef and the salmon, which were both perfectly cooked and tasty. Our host and the locals were very friendly. We will be back again soon.
We were in our camper in the well arranged campsite ,to the rear of the pub.Had a great meal in the pub restaurant, where Peter and staff took great care in looking after us .
Rooms is 3 star because I stayed in my motorhome, but electricity and water were available at each pitch, which is excellent. The shower block is a bit basic and run down. But Peter the Landlord gave a great reception and delivered good quality food in a pub of substantial age and history. The staff in the pub and the whole atmosphere was very friendly, making both evenings very pleasant. Lots of walks in lovely countryside from the site, including a great walk out the back to Eardington and on down to the river, following that to the picturesque town of Bridgnorth, and then a circular route back across fields, steams, and through woods. Sad to think Peter is retiring after what has clearly been a great career. All the best in the future!
Lovely couple that own the place and we was made very welcome and our food was top notch all fresh nothing frozen so we recommend you trying it out its very old fashioned pub 😀
We stayed on site in our caravan. It was a lovely place to stay. Had a great walk with the dogs and came back to the pub for some drinks. Had a beautiful meal there, too. The staff were great and very welcoming. All in all, it was a lovely stay and we would not hesitate to return.
