Excellent food. 1st class service. Lovely, relaxed atmosphere
Had booked Xmas lunch at the Half Moon; due to illness had to cancel at very short notice. with no plans for a meal at home and no food bought in. Baked beans being top of the menu. No Way. Our 3 course meal was brought to the house. Thanks to the staff. wonderful service and we could enjoy our unexpected Christmas DINNER. Thank you Mathew.
We had our first Xmas lunch here yesterday, my wife and I were very impressed, from start to finish, the food was excellent, service was spot on, the whole process was very slick. Great atmosphere and we will booking for next year as soon as we can, well done all the staff.š
I went here today with 4 elderly members of family who have been coming here for years. The food was as always magnificent, however we were left upset and astounded by the incredibly rude service from one of the waitresses. We were told we had to be out by 1, which is understandable as they were busy, but the tone she took with us was unnecessarily cold. We felt so rushed that we got up as soon as it looked clear at the carvery, only to be told we had to sit down and wait for another table to go up first. When it was apparently time for us to go up, the rude lady called to us from the bar that we can go up now. She didnāt even come to the table to tell us. Four members of the party have hearing aids and didnāt hear her, so she asked āare you blanking me?ā When we said we were confused by the system (and by the manor in which she was talking to us) she asked āare you trying to be difficult?ā We didnāt even have time to finish our plates or have dessert, even though the people who were due to take our table hadnāt actually arrived. When it came to paying we were told āweāre good at taking money off youā and āyou can sit in the bar next timeā. This is simply unacceptable and the worst bit of customer service Iāve ever experienced. There was no respect for us whatsoever. I must stress that each quote is word for word what she said. Itās so bold in my memory that I canāt forget her unkindness. Weāre a regular customer at the half moon and all think of the place very highly, however this was so disappointing that it completely ruined the family occasion. I want to stress that we love the restaurant itself and the rest of the staff are lovely and super friendly - it was just this one lady who was utterly unpleasant towards all of us. That was enough to ruin our whole meal. I would like to hope that if we did come back again, we are met with a different waiter/ waitress. I donāt know what she had against us or what we did wrong but it felt completely unreasonable. I appreciate people have bad days but to take this out on regular, paying staff is horrific.
One of my favourite pubs in Llanelli! Always love visiting the Half Moon, the food is absolutely stunning. Half Moon melt is my favourite! š Weāve never had a bad meal here! The staff and owners are so welcoming and friendly and really appreciate your custom. Good selection of alcohol and a cosy atmosphere. And theyāre dog friendly šš¾
