Welcome to The Half Moon in Mudford.
Our opening hours are 12.00pm - 10.00pm and we serve food up to 8.50pm daily. We do not take table bookings. We've always worked on a first come basis. Please just turn up and choose your table.
The Half Moon Inn and Country Lodge is pleasantly situated in the small village of Mudford just 3 miles from Yeovil and Penmill train station, in rural surroundings on the Somerset and Dorset borders. We are located with in 8 miles of Haynes Motor museum and The Fleet Air Museum, perfect days out.
The pub has been painstakingly and lovingly restored to the original rustic nature and surroundings of the 17th Century Inn, creating a special atmosphere.
The Inn has a spacious cobbled courtyard with tables and chairs in the Spring and Summer months, and is ideal for relaxing and enjoying a long Summer's afternoon.
We do allow small to medium dogs in our pub (not in the rooms with carpets),
but unfortunately we do not allow dogs in our hotel rooms.
We are happy for you to bring your own travel cot as we do not supply them.

Food always great, home cooked with care and love even just the sandwiches/baguettes and lighter bites are brilliant portions and we'll work the value for money. This is a firm favourite from lunch to dinner and have been countless times and always an easy decision if wanting good quality food and a old pub atmosphere as opposed to a restaurant. Suitable for couples, friends and families, larger tables are available also for larger groups.
Very busy when we went over the Christmas period, however food was served within a reasonable time. Delicious as always.
Lovely meal with family, great service and tasty food. One minor issue as a veggie often only offered vegan food. I ordered vegan chilli. Please ask people if they want cheese and sour cream although if I was vegan I'd expect the vegan versions. Plenty of non meat options though so better than most. Will definitely come again. Very friendly restaurant thank you.
Excellent food, rather large portions, I had the ribs one evening they were amazing. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Roo.s are a good price. Will stay again if in the area
Always good food here, make sure you get there early as there is no booking and tables go quickly, nice atmosphere for a group and nice and quiet enough if you are on your own.
