Trad pub in Central Southbourne, with quite a few "characters" in situ on my Friday afternoon visit. Decent, quick service, though £4.50 for a pint of Fosters is a little bit on the expensive side. CCTV cameras very much in evidence - I counted nearly a dozen just trained on the front door and main bar area. OK for a passing visit, whilst in the area.
Good beer selection, lively Friday night. DJ doing Kareoke.
The Grove Tavern is a local pub for local people. Everyone comes to the Grove for different reasons, Sport, socailising, live music, fun games & even silent discos. This pub doesn't have a kitchen but on a few chosen nights they do put out nibbles for everyone to enjoy. Great atmosphere and lovely suntrap garden Staff are always welcoming & very friendly 😊
I've been here most Saturdays and the last FOUR times they give out complimentary chips to every table BUT MINE. I ask every time why none for me and the grumpy bloke with beard handing out chips just ignores me or gives me a funny or angry look. I ask staff each time but they just shrugged their shoulders. FOUR TIMES IN A ROW HIS MANAGER SHOULD HAVE A WORD WITH HIM!!!
Favourite pub in Bournemouth. Extremely friendly staff, occasional free food and a brilliant beer selection at a very competitive price. The place to watch any sport or simply for a few wets.
