The Grapes Hotel is a family friendly pub restaurant offering delicious meals at great prices. Kick back, relax and enjoy...happiness guaranteed!.
We had the carvery which was nice, the staff were impersonal, when we walked in and said we had booked a table the lady just walked away without saying follow me to your table 😠. We were having a drink after our meal and got the impression they were looking to close this was at 8 30, the carvery had already closed at 7 45. Didn't feel at all welcome especially when the last order bell went at 8 50, won't be rushing back
We both had a carvery, we were one of the first few people in and so the carvery was really freshly done at 12, had 3 meats, gammon, turkey and beef! Lovely food and atmosphere, have been here before and will always come back! 💯
A good sized pub with an equally good atmosphere. My friend had the carvery which looked and smelled amazing, she said it was lovely, I had chilli nachos which was a nice little snack.
Fantastic place to come and eat. The carvery is only £6(ish) for a small one. The steak and ale pies are omg and the vegetarian cheese pie is wow! Great friendly service.
Relaxed pub, haven't been for a few years and thought I'd try it again. it seems chilled and laid back. Has an outside back and front with cover to stay out the sun or rain. Tried the hunters chicken which was decent nice and juicy with thin crispy bacon and cheese pulling off it . Chips are just your standard pub chips but drown them in vinegar and bobs ya uncle. Wish I had more peas as just had a couple of forkfulls of peas but that's a minor gripe I'm sure I'll deal with it. Has a carvery everyday and the meats looked juicy and tasty will be back to try that soon. Oh and the morreti lager was cold and tasted perfect . Went back and tried the mini mixed grill is was decent. 2 sausage, chicken breast , gammon and egg chips and peas. Good of you need a lot of protein.

The name of the pub is slightly less odd, when you realise that Brown Edge is the name of a village. Intriguingly, there was once a pub elsewhere in Brown Edge called The Unhinging Of Doors, though it no longer exists
